Voluntary evacuation order issued for El Paso County wildfire

Fire departments in El Paso County are battling a wildfire east of Colorado Springs, and the fire has burned some structures and threatens several others, according to firefighters. – A voluntary evacuation order was put in place for residents in a 12-square-mile area because of a wildfire burning east of Colorado Springs on Tuesday.

A wildfire is burning south of Yoder in eastern El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says the voluntary evacuation area is Shear Rd, Edison Rd, Yoder Rd, Fossinger Rd.

Multiple fire departments from across the county are responding.

The fire was first reported at 10:30 a.m., and is near Truckton, at the intersection of Fossinger and Boone Roads, according to the Hanover Fire Department. Crews are dealing with winds, she said.
