Volvo V40 brings Thor’s Hammer LED headlights
Swedish automaker has unveiled the facelifts for its V40 hatchback and V40 Cross Country luxury crossover models. The biggest change is noticeable at the front where the V40 and V40 Cross Country have gained the Thor’s Hammer LED headlights as seen in the XC90, S90, and V90. The updated vehicle will debut at next week’s Geneva Motor Show, it’s on sale now priced around the £20,000 mark with first deliveries expected in June this year.

The exterior update includes the addition of five colours including the new Amazon Blue and Denim Blue, as well as three colours already used by other models: Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue and Luminous Sand. Additionally, prospective buyers will also be offered the option of interior panel trims in milled, black grid or stealth aluminum. An updated key fob featuring Volvo’s revised logo has also been added. Moreover, accent trim colors in the door inserts will be paired with contrasting stitching.
The Volvo On Call app is also significantly upgraded, and can now send location information from the user’s calendar to the car’s navigation system, as well as enabling a fleet of up to ten cars to be managed on a single device. “We are very proud of our unique and custom-made interface for Spotify”, said Björn Annwall, Senior Vice President Marketing Sales and Service at Volvo Cars. Volvo says that using the built-in Spotify function will allow even greater music fidelity through the cars’ optional Bowers & Wilkins surround-sound system. It was already compatible with Apple Watch and Android Wear and now gets Microsoft Band 2 connectivity too, making it compatible with Windows 10-based smartphones.
