Volvo announced earlier today that they are committed to offering more high performance vehicles in the near future. This will have to wait until Polestar Performance Package makes its official debut on Volvo’s website. He said that both the S90 and the V90 will have its Polestar versions which may have the capacity to reach up to 600 horsepower.

The only notable upgrades will be operated under the hood, but unlike previous Polestar-optimized models, which only received mild power bumps, the S90 and V90 will get updates in other departments as well. Emmissions and fuel efficiency should not be affected by changes performed with this package.

Polestar engineers are also working on a package for the T6 gasoline powertrain, with availability expected in October. “The S90 and V90 already offer excellent driving dynamics and we are delighted to raise the performance level even further with Polestar Performance Optimisation”, said Niels Möller, COO of Polestar.

The upgrades are the same as those introduced for the XC90 previous year, which means that it involves the D5 diesel engine and T6 petrol engine.

The new generation Polestar optimisation moves away from only including increased engine performance to now include the entire drivetrain.
