Von Miller signs record-breaking $160m deal with Broncos
I’m also thankful for the way my teammates and our fans have supported me. “I’m excited for the future and ready to get back to work” (see full story).

Von Miller’s most recent tweet says it all: The Super Bowl MVP and star linebacker is a Denver Bronco for life.
Miller’s guaranteed money is eclipsed by only that of Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck, who will receive $US75 million ($A98 million) in guarantees in his $US140 million ($A183 million) contract extension. Amerson originally signed a four-year, $3.85 million deal coming out of North Carolina State. The final two years, at a total haul of $36 million, aren’t guaranteed; whether Miller makes that money will depend on his health, his effective, the market for pass rushes, and Denver’s options at the position.
Despite speculation over a rift between Von Miller and John Elway, a fellow Super Bowl MVP, it would appear all is well in Dove Valley once again.
After seeing defensive contemporaries such as Vernon pocket mega-money deals, Miller, who is one of the NFL’s premier players – was entitled to feel that he deserved more. The two sides had until 4 p.m. E.T. Friday to come to an agreement before the tag would’ve kicked in, and we all would’ve found out if Miller was bluffing or not.
WASHINGTON – Kirk Cousins will play next season on the franchise tag after the quarterback and Washington Redskins were unable to agree on a long-term contract. Miller was yet to comment on the offer.
The contract not only is great for Miller and his agent, Joby Branion, but also for a sizable group of defensive players due new deals in coming years. He has the second-highest guaranteed value in the league, behind Luck.
Miller’s guarantee shatters what the Broncos gave wide receiver Demaryius Thomas previous year, 43.5 million guaranteed. Cousins will earn $19.95 million next season. Vernon signed a five-year, $85 million deal with $52.5 million guaranteed.
Despite Miller’s saying he expected negotiations to be “peaceful” and that he “trusted” Elway things had gotten emotional in recent weeks.

Following a 2013 campaign in which he ended the season on injured reserve, Miller rebounded with consecutive All-Pro selections the last two years (2nd team – 2014; 1st team – 2015).
