Voters doubt Clinton’s pneumonia explanation, poll shows
In the past 18 months, both the Trump campaign and the Clinton campaign have released letters from their respective physicians attesting to their health, with the GOP nominee’s doctor writing that if elected, Mr. Trump would be the healthiest individual ever elected to the White House.

“My overall impression”, Bardack wrote, “is that Mrs. Clinton has remained healthy and has not developed new medical conditions this year other than a sinus and ear infection and her recently diagnosed pneumonia”.
Speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta said Wednesday’s disclosures were “pretty similar” to information released by her campaign previous year. Doctors later narrowed that down further as non-contagious bacterial pneumonia for which Clinton will be treated with Levaquin for 30 days.
She later travelled to her daughter’s apartment, and eventually to her home in Chappaqua, New York, before her campaign gave a more complete explanation of what had happened. Clinton reported having “significant improvement in her symptoms” since this procedure.
Video appears to show Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stumble as she leaves the 9/11 memorial at ground zero Sunday morning.
In a letter released by the campaign, Clinton’s longtime physician, Lisa Bardack, who visited with Clinton at her home on Wednesday, said Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis on September 9 started as a “low grade fever, congestion and fatigue”.
But when Mrs Clinton takes her place once again behind the podium, she will also have to reassure the public that she has fully recovered and is fit to take on the most powerful role in the world.
Seven in 10 voters (71 percent) – up 10 percent since August – said presidential candidates should be required to release a letter from their physician saying they are physically fit to serve, while 78 percent said they should be required to take similar action about their mental health.
The former president is a famously good campaigner and does an admirable job of selling her message to the American people.
Trump, 70, knows he could stand to lose a few pounds but otherwise is in great health, campaign adviser Sarah Huckabee Sanders told MSNBC on Wednesday after the Republican nominee taped an episode of the “Dr. Oz Show” in NY that will air on Thursday.
She is scheduled to return to the campaign trail on Thursday, with a campaign event in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Obama insisted that Clinton had “been subjected to more scrutiny and … more unfair criticism than anybody out here”, while accusing the media of giving her Republican opponent a pass. Trump has seized on those concerns, often questioning Clinton’s stamina and energy. She has since been given a clean bill of health.

Earlier in the day, Mr Trump’s campaign issued a statement with the heading: “Shouldn’t you be at work?” targeting Mr Obama’s decision to campaign for Mr Clinton instead of solving “major problems facing the country”. A neighbor also posted a sign this week on a road leading to her house encouraging Clinton to ‘get well soon’.
