Voters Trust Trump On Economy, Clinton On Nukes

Donald Trump has embarked on a Southern campaign swing amid new controversy Wednesday, with some top Republicans reported to be considering an intervention with him.

“Paul has good influence with Donald”, said Charlie Black, a longtime GOP strategist and former business partner of Manafort.

The new figures indicate a major shift in Trump’s campaign, which until recent months was largely funded by hat and T-shirt sales and by Trump’s wallet.

The solid month of July fundraising left the campaign with $37 million in cash-on-hand while the joint Trump Victory Fund shared by the Trump campaign, the RNC and several state Republican parties banked another $37 million.

“This is another Clinton narrative that she put out there and the media is picking up on”, he said. He added that voters are looking for people who will solve problems, not make personal attacks like those from Trump. The key, as always, is in the polls and public sentiment.

“We are extremely proud of our 69 percent growth in small dollar donations which shows the broad based support of over one million donors across America”, said Steven Mnuchin, Trump’s financial chairman. “If Trump decides he wants to go it alone, it is a lonely road”, he said.

His ongoing war of words with Khizr and Ghazala Khan – the parents of Capt Humayun Khan – has intensified rifts within the Republican Party.

The Republican presidential nominee seized on a new report that the USA had sent $400 million in cash to Iran as the country released four Americans.

And House Republican Adam Kinzinger of IL, a US Air Force veteran, told CNN he woke up yesterday realising that Trump has “crossed so many red lines” that he can no longer support the nominee, “no matter what the political cost to me”.

Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, who is in a tight re-election battle, has not endorsed Trump and did not attend the convention.

Sixty-one percent of those polled said they think Clinton is dishonest though 64 percent said she has the temperament to serve as president. In the midst of the uproar over his continued criticism of the Khan family, Trump infuriated Priebus and other party leaders by refusing to endorse GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan’s re-election.

Hoping to peel away some Sanders supporters from Clinton, Trump said the Democratic nominating process was “rigged” against the Vermont Democratic socialist.

He referred to his opponent, Mrs Clinton, as “the devil”.

Obama was a state senator in IL in 2004.

Mr Trump said he would advise his daughter to find another job if she were the victim of sexual harassment. Toomey has disagreed with Trump on some of his most controversial statements, but the Lehigh County resident also hasn’t said Trump has done anything to disqualify himself from the race. “This was much easier”.

Trump on Wednesday dismissed suggestions that the GOP frustration was hurting his campaign, even as he openly contemplated an Election Day loss. “You’re only afraid if you’ve got something to be afraid about”.
