VW teases new electric concept auto ahead of the Paris Motor Show
We’ve already seen the Porsche Mission E electric supercar, and the Audi Q6 EV is on the way too, but heading for the Paris Motor Show later this month is a new electric Volkswagen (pictured above and below) VW think will be the next Beetle.

It’s said VW is aiming for a range of 250 miles plus and a charging time of minutes rather than hours.
It will also be in constant connection with the internet, linking directly to a Volkswagen application that will help it do everything from identify available car-parking spaces to concierge services.
Don’t expect exotic materials or massive sacrifices for light weight, though, with project leader Christian Senger insisting the production vehicle will use a traditional steel-aluminium material mix in its body and architecture. “There won’t be any radical body concepts”.
All three also get larger and lower air intakes, plus bulkier front bumpers to make each vehicle look a bit sportier than before, and a tad more capable to boot. A “Volkswagen ID” will be specific to every driver, with their preferences and settings saved and applied to other cars, such as hire cars, that the driver may use. The follow-up models to the hatchback will be a crossover, a luxury saloon and a sports vehicle.
The world could always use a few more hatchbacks.

Volkswagen’s target is to be selling one million fully electric vehicles by 2025.
