Wade, Agent Expected To Stay With Heat, Embrace Chicago Homecoming

The Heat are in trouble without their long-time starting shooting guard, who led them to a surprising trip to the second round of the playoffs this past season.

After all, the “Heat Lifer” was a 12-time All-Star, a three-time NBA Champion and an NBA Finals MVP in just one uniform.

In a note to the Associated Press, Wade wrote, “I look back with pride and amazement at all that we accomplished”.

DWYANE Wade danced onto the stage holding TV host Kelly Ripa’s hand yesterday morning, settled into his chair and smiled broadly as the studio audience roared with cheers and applause. “I’m excited to go back to the place I’ve always envisioned playing basketball”. Wade’s departure came as a surprise to many across the league as many expected him to be in Miami for his whole career.

“I’ve been in Miami for 13 years, I mean 13 incredible years”, he said.

It’s still stunning that Dwyane Wade is no longer a member of the Miami Heat. Wade talked about how hard the decision was to make after 13 seasons with the Miami Heat, and how much sleep, and weight, he lost while trying to decide what to do. “We’ve studied the National Basketball Association, we’ve studied the history of the National Basketball Association, and when you make a move to go that direction, it sometimes can take six, seven years to get out”.

Rajon Rondo said Thursday the Chicago Bulls have “three alphas” with Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade and himself on the squad, but that “it’s Jimmy’s team”.

“I just want to thank all my fans”, Wade said on-air, before a studio audience that included at least one person who waved his now-former Heat jersey. With current star Jimmy Butler, and the addition of Wade and Rondo the Bulls are hoping to be a real contender in the Eastern Conference.

Wade has made over US$300 million in a career where he teamed with LeBron James and Chris Bosh to championships in 2012 and 2013 after winning one with Shaquille O’Neal in 2006. He’ll join the Bulls and play the position a guy named Michael Jordan played there when Wade was growing up.

They refused to give him the security of a three-year deal.

The letter begins with Wade stating that the move was “an extremely emotional and tough decision”, going on to thank the entire Heat organization, and he saves a special moment for Heat fans.
