Wait, is Mads Mikkelsen appearing in Death Stranding?

One of the biggest surprises of E3 2016 was Hideo Kojima taking the stage during Sony’s press conference to unveil his first post-Konami project, Death Stranding. And it’s now being made in… But then a fan of Mikkelsen posted the following Instagram photo of himself with the Danish actor wearing the same orange hoodie with a grey lining.

It seems that Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen might just have a role next to Norman Reedus in Hideo Kojima’s new PS4 exclusive Death Stranding.

So yeah, it seems like work on the game has started and is coming along well, and that we may even see Mikkelsen pop in, either by lending his likeness, his voice, or both, at some point during the game.

Not much to go on right?

Corroborating this scenario further is the fact that Kojima tweeted a year ago that Mikkelsen is his “favourite actor”.

In the same post, when commenters asked jmerskine1 more about what Mads had said and questioned him about Death Stranding, he replied “he said it was a Japanese game so yeah haha I think it’s a safe bet”.

From this information we can theorise two things: one, Mads Mikkelsen may well play a large part in Kojima’s Death Stranding, hopefully as some kind of fiendish villain (come on, it’s what he does best).
