Waiver Wire for Deep Leagues Week 4
After three weeks of play, Tyrod Taylor is a top-five fantasy’ quarterback. Plus, the streaming QBs and DSTs of the week. With Brandon Weeden under center, it was likely that the Cowboys would heavily feature the run, limiting Weeden’s opportunities to make mistakes.

Devonta Freeman – Same as Lewis, but if a few owners were hesitant and doubted him, good luck not blowing your entire FAAB or needing the No. 1 waiver spot to get him. That will always be a shameful page in the Dallas record book. Given that, Dunbar’s going to be a potential PPR machine for Dallas. When Dunbar was on the field, they passed to him. Randle should get plenty of carries against a Saints defense that ranks 26th overall in the league. McCoy reaggravated his hammy in the second quarter against the Dolphins. Gordon mustered just five fantasy points (15 carries, 58 yards) against a Vikings defense that entered the game allowing 4.87 yards per carry (30th in the NFL). Sixteen carries for 104 yards bodes well as a reliable RB2 option while Lynch still deals with injuries. Coach Pete Carroll said the hamstring issue is “nothing to be alarmed about”, but Lynch’s Week 4 status should be considered extremely questionable at this point. After getting just 10 targets in the first two weeks, Graham saw eight looks against the Bears – a good sign for owners counting on top-tier TE1 production. He’s now scored 12 touchdowns in his last 19 regular-season games. But Freeman looked against the Cowboys like he wants both jobs. Tom Brady, Andy Dalton, Marcus Mariota, Joe Flacco and Josh McCown all had at least 340 yards and two touchdowns. He got the bulk of his carries, including a 41-yard TD run, after Sunday’s game was well in-hand and the Bills chose to let McCoy rest his bum hamstring.
Perhaps the key takeaway here is that nearly all of these wide receivers remained productive for the remainder of these seasons, with the four players who fell short of the 200-point plateau all having missed a few time later in those seasons. Also, there’s no rush to bring Andre Ellington along any faster. I’m still enamored with the rookie’s upside. This week, Antonio Andrews got a team-high 12 carries.
Waiver Wire Wide Receiver PickupsI changed my mind; Rishard Matthews might actually have something. Going up against Miami’s inexplicably ineffective defense next week, he will continue to be a viable fantasy option but might not merit holding through his early Week 5 bye unless you’re desperate for options. What’s not to like?
But Randle made all of this happen with unsustainable big plays. We’ve seen this act before. Unfortunately for those of you who rostered him, it makes little sense to sell low on Anderson.
Despite winning his first game as a member of the Eagles, Bradford’s struggles were evident against the New York Jets on Sunday.
And, you know, all of this information doesn’t even mention the fact that he’s played like doo-doo. Well, he is. Not only did most of his work come at the end of the game, but Ameer Abdullah will eat into more and more of Riddick’s passing-down workload as the year goes on. Cause when he catches one, it’s usually for a large chunk of yardage.
Last season it was the rookie wide receivers generating the headlines. His size/speed combo is scary; once he harnesses it, DGB is going to be a beast. Could DeVante Parker, who the Dolphins grabbed with the 14th overall pick in this year’s draft, follow that same script?
Jordan Reed – C’mon, you guys are kidding, right?
Eric Ebron (Lions, 51% owned): Continues to impress and seems to be on the same page as Stafford and the offense. It’s not that Pettigrew steals his targets, but he takes Ebron off the field.
Week 3 was as exciting as Week 2 was freaky. Randle had 116 receiving yards last week against the Washington Redskins with a touchdown grab. Basically, with his low yardage total, you’re playing TD or bust.
No, I didn’t lose my dog. He draws a better matchup against the Browns and plays in an offense that demands to chuck the ball around. In his four-year career, Dalton has made 50 starts in October or later and he has averaged just 227.0 yards per game, 6.82 yards per attempt and completed 60.84 percent of his passes in those contests. Plus, they never ask him to block! While a Success Rate that high is very good (the average among running backs covers the 41 to 42 percent range, typically), it’s not as great when you consider how efficient he was.
Coby Fleener – More short-term than anyone here.
Clay has a chance to be a fantasy dynamo with Tyrod Taylor under center in Buffalo moving forward this season. Next five matchups for Taylor: NYG, TEN, CIN, JAX, MIA. I don’t get it. He’s now the fifth-ranked fantasy QB, putting up back-to-back 24+ point games. Expect more of the same, against a significantly worse defense, at Indy.

Week 3’s in the books, and hopefully you’re off to a good start. Though Green is the focal point of the Bengals’ air attack, Jones is a proven threat with the scoring ability to make noise in fantasy leagues.
