Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs Louisville Cardinals Preview
Wake Forest is 3-5 on the year, 1-4 in the ACC, 3-5 against the spread and 4-3-1 with the over. Louisville improves to 4-4 and also has a 3-2 record in ACC play. For the season, he’s caught 20 passes for 307 yards and two scores. Wake Forest was able to dirty it up against Louisville a year ago and keep that game close going into the second half.

The early star of the game was Louisville wide receiver Jamari Staples, who caught two first-half touchdowns and finished with 10 catches for 133 yards.
It wasn’t the nail in the coffin, however, as Wake forced a Louisville punt and got the ball back with 1:43 to play on its own 11-yard line. “But it’s also based on execution and understanding situations and making critical plays”.
The Demon Deacons added another interception to their turnover mark with four minutes left in the game shortly after blocking a Louisville field-goal attempt. The latter was set up by Chucky Williams’ serpentining interception return and giving the Cardinals a one-point lead with 1:25 left in the third.
Then, the D made it stand – even after a late scare.
But Shaq Wiggins intercepted Wolford’s underthrown deep pass for K.J. Brent with 3:31 to play.
Then came the fourth pickoff for Louisville. Four plays later, a fourth-down fumble on a sack clinched the outcome. Wake’s offense, however, would shut down in the second half and the Demon Deacons could not find the answer with either Kendall Hinton or John Wolford at quarterback. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 35-17 loss to N.C. State last week for their fourth loss in five games. Well, thus far in this one, the Demon Deacons are off to a pretty good start, thanks to wide receiver Cortez Lewis.
Prior to that, Wake Forest wide receiver Cortez Lewis put himself on the highlight reel with an acrobatic catch and juke, resulting in a 78-yard touchdown that helped the Demon Deacons take a 10-0 lead.
Wake Forest defensive end Duke Ejiofor started it by sacking Jackson in the end zone for a safety that put the Demon Deacons up 12-10.

Louisville hurried downfield and pulled back within two on Jackson’s 22-yard TD pass to Staples with 22 seconds left.
