Howard is accused of fatally shooting Holder, 33, in the forehead in East Harlem last week while the cop was responding to a drug-related shootout on East 102nd Street.

Revealing the news in a letter to the Holder’s family that was obtained by the New York Daily News, Sharpton referenced concerns from the leaders that his presence at the funeral will turn the memorial into a spectacle.

Holder, who was not married, will be buried in a family plot at a cemetery in his native Georgetown, Guyana.

“I just couldn’t hold myself”, she said. Mayor Bill de Blasio, former and current Police Commissioners Ray Kelly and William Bratton, Cardinal Timothy Dolan and the family of slain officer Wenjian Liu were among the hundreds of mourners. The suspect charged in the murder, Tyrone Howard, 30, is due in court on Tuesday. Holder’s dream came true in 2010 when he joined the New York Police Department. Days after Holder’s death, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the state would provide $42 million to improve security at public housing in New York City.

Tarantino also angered New York police with his appearance and comments, with Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch calling for a boycott of the Pulp Fiction director’s films.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, a prominent civil rights activist and frequent critic of the NYPD, said on Tuesday that he would not deliver the eulogy at Holder’s funeral, citing news reports in which his planned appearance had been criticized. His attorney has said more details about the case need to be known.

In the Post story, Holder’s fiancée Mary Muhammad was quoted as saying on Monday, “He didn’t like [Sharpton]”.

NYPD forensics experts are checking the weapon for prints and DNA, and will perform a series of ballistics tests to determine if shells recovered next to Holder’s body were fired from the weapon, Aubrey said. CBSNewYork.com will have a live stream of the service starting at 3 p.m.
