Wal-Mart And Target Stretching Their Cyber Monday Deals

Walmart says the reason why its Cyber Monday deals now start earlier and run longer is because we live in an age where people have access to high-speed Internet at home or on the go, and so seems silly to just limit deals to just one day.

A blog post from Target.com’s President states they’ll have a 15% discount that will be offered site-wide on Cyber Monday, which is a first. But Target is “going all-in” on the e-commerce sales day, he wrote.

Wal-Mart said this month that online sales increased 10 percent in the fiscal third quarter, compared with a year ago.

Many of these will be unveiled on November 29, but Target’s teasing one of note thus far: You can pick up the 500 GB Gears of War Xbox One bundle for the standard holiday pricing of $299.99.

Another noteworthy finding is that Black Friday is expected to surpass Cyber Monday as the most popular online shopping day during Thanksgiving Weekend: 66 percent of those shopping over the holiday weekend report that they will do so online on Black Friday; 52 percent intend to do so on Cyber Monday.

A 65 inch LG 4K Ultra HDTV for $799 plus free shipping as well as a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for $599 are among the products being sold during the discount shopping days.

Maderia said that the Cyber Monday was started many years back when their customers waited to get back to work after Black Friday.

The Walmart Cyber Monday start time for 2015 has already begun, as the retailer has announced that their online sales event is to start on the Sunday this year, and not on the Monday. And digitally-savvy Millennials are driving that growth, he added. Cyber Monday will last all day at Best Buy, and some deals will be extended for the rest of the week. The retailer expects 2015 to be even better, partly due to an updated shopping app and mobile website.

Target said they have seen an increase in Cyber Monday sales over the years
