“He had a little setback recently but its looks very minor and of course for us to have a great season it is important to have a great Jack Wilshere”.

Cape Town – Arsene Wenger has revealed he is “scared” of retiring while explaining his preference for scouting in the lower leagues in search of players hungry for success.

Wenger insisted, however, it was not as easy as just spending money. Add to this that talented central defenders are scarce in today’s market, and if Gabriel’s injury is serious, then the chances of finally winning another Premier League are even more slim.

“But we respect the money we have – it is very hard to find the quality of players who are available”.

Wenger, speaking in a new book about management called Game Changers, also said he will never change his ways in the transfer market – despite many fans being frustrated with his frugal ways.

“That’s what I want to do – I want to get the best out of myself”.

Nigeria youngster, Alex Iwobi, has stated that his target for the upcoming English Premier League season is getting more playing time and scoring more goals for the Gunners, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.‎. One is the talent, two his age, three is how much you expect him to improve your team, and four his resale value.

He indicated that, with Olivier Giroud set to miss the opening game of the season against Liverpool on Sunday, Alexis Sanchez would play through the middle.

And, with the prospect of retirement on the horizon, Wenger has conceded he is not looking forward to the “emptiness” it will bring.
