Walker’s 38 points lift Hornets past Lakers, 108-98
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Kemba Walker scored 18 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter, and the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 108-98 Monday night in Kobe Bryant’s final game against the team that drafted him – and promptly traded him – almost 20 years ago.

They also got 16 points from center Cody Zeller, 15 points and 11 rebounds from guard Nicolas Batum, and 13 points each from forward P.J. Hairston and guard Jeremy Lin.
“I got to meet Kobe Bryant last night, so I’m riding high”, Harper said.
Last week we broke down the 30 greatest scorers in Lakers’ franchise history and this week it is time to discuss the greatest Lakers’ players ever in franchise history. “I didn’t want to be on the other end of him getting that W”. He finished with three points and four rebounds on 1-4 shooting in 14 and a half minutes of play. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone given how visibly Bryant modeled his game after Jordan’s – from the post-game and the fadeaway, right up to his signature competitive fire. “I don’t care if he’s a starter of if they figure out a 13th spot for him”, Rivers said.”[With] what he’s done in his career, he should be on the All-Star team, and I don’t see any debate in that.
“You always have to find something to motivate you”, Lakers coach Byron Scott said.
Five-time National Basketball Association champion Bryant says the slight he received from the former Boston Celtics star player Cowens helped shape his championship character. You’ve helped promote it. You’ve got a lot of fans all over the world. “I’m very, very happy for you and what you have accomplished within the game”.
“It was awesome”, said Bryant. “We talk pretty often”. Julius Randle was like, ‘That’s unbelievable.
From one great to another, Michael Jordan made sure to congratulate the retiring Kobe Bryant during the Laker star’s final trip to Charlotte.
Bryant has said Grizzlies guard Tony Allen is the toughest individual defender he has faced in his career. “(It) was one of those nights where his knee was a little sore, so I wanted to limit his minutes”. “And he said, ‘You’ll be here soon'”. Kobe Bryant led the way for Los Angeles in the loss to the Hornets with 20 points but missed 15-of-20 field goals.
Spurs 101, Timberwolves 95: Kawhi Leonard had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Boban Marjanovic also scored 17 and San Antonio remained undefeated at home.

Pierce started the second half at power forward and made an immediate impact, combining with Chris Paul to trap Raul Neto along the baseline and force a turnover on the first play of the third quarter.
