The governor’s state committee, which financed his runs for governor and paid for activity leading up to his presidential announcement last week, raised $5.9 million from the start of January through June.
All Florida National Guard personnel at the state’s six storefront recruitment centers have been temporarily moved to the nearest National Guard armories while Calhoun assesses steps to improve security at the recruitment sites, such as the use of bulletproof glass or enhanced video surveillance.
Walker said in his order that attacks are becoming more common and “every precaution must be taken to ensure that our servicemen and women are protect from possible future attacks”.
Two of the shuttered Guard storefronts are in Jacksonville and nearby Orange Park.
As far as the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, “it just keeps getting worse”, said Peter Barca, a Democratic assemblyman and minority leader who sits on the agency’s board. Until now, service members have not been allowed to possess firearms at recruiting and reserve offices.
Presidential candidate Jeb Bush and Donald Trump echoed Walker’s sentiments last week in calling to arm military members.

Visitors to those locations should be prepared to have their bags searched, Rickert said. “Unfortunately, military in this country are to some degree targets”, Goheen said.
