Walmart Already Offers Nintendo 2DS for $79 with a Caveat
The 2DS plays most every game the 3DS can, except any New 3DS titles (fortunately there aren’t that many).

According to the company, there are even some bundles that offer the “Mario Kart 7” as a pre-installed title, which makes it an even better deal.
A couple of games to go with the less expensive 2DS.
One thing the 2DS lacks, though, is the NFC-reading tech from the new 3DS consoles. In the title, players will be able to choose, match and accessorize over 19,000 different articles of clothing, items, and accessories.
Note that the 2DS does not have built-in NFC-reading technology like the New 3DS does, though there is a reader accessory sold separately that allows this to work on 2DS. The company is also releasing Disney Magical World 2 and Style Savvy: Fashion Forward later this year. Fashion Forward comes with Amiibo support, meaning gamers can select from a wide assortment of fashion items belonging to iconic Nintendo characters.
As for Magical World 2, the sequel takes players on adventures in six Disney-themed worlds, one of which is based on the popular animated movie Frozen. In all, the 3DS might be my most played device of this generation.
For the Magical World 2, Nintendo fans have to muster some patience, as the game arrives on October 14.
