Best BuyBest Buy announced it would be open from 5 p.m.to 1 a.m. on Thursday and will open again at 8 a.m. on Black Friday. This may come as a surprise, but retailers being open on Thanksgiving day is a relatively recent development. “However, with so many stores open on Thanksgiving, promotions starting earlier and running longer, and other factors, retailers are seeing an overall erosion in Black Friday sales”, said the consultancy in a research report.

Macy’s, the country’s largest department store chain, will open its stores at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving.
The Kent, Wash.-based co-op told members the plan in an email, saying instead of working they’ll pay their employees on November 27 to be outside.
Left and right companies keep on releasing their Black Friday ads and now it seems Target is in on the action.
During a conference call Wednesday, Walmart U.S. Chief Merchandising Officer Steve Bratspies said stores are already stocked with more than a million TVs for Black Friday.
While the mall will be open at 6 p.m., not all stores will necessarily follow suit – anchor Dillard’s won’t open on Thanksgiving at all – so shoppers might want to check with stores that interest them.
Sears, meanwhile, will also focus on appliances for its best deals according to the Black Friday 2015 leaked ads.
This year Walmart said it was focused on stocking its stores with the products shoppers wanted most. The retailer is also offering eight deals on November 10 to lure in buyers way ahead of time.
On Thanksgiving Day, there are a lot of rumored offers on the game console bundles. Online shoppers, though, can get a jump, as Black Fridays sales kick off at walmart.com at 12:01 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. Target and rival Wal-Mart Stores Inc. began opening on Thanksgiving three years ago to better compete with online retailers and other competitors. The electronics store is also making eight Black Friday deals available on November 10.
