Walmart Hiring 60000 Workers for the 2015 Holiday Season

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said it plans to hire 60,000 seasonal employees to work at its stores in the United States, the same as past year , as it gets ready for the busy holiday selling season.

The company stated that the workers will be paid at least $9 an hour and its permanent employees will also have the chance to pick up extra hours.

“Under governing SEC rules Trinity’s proposal sought to regulate Wal-Mart’s daily decisions on the hundreds of thousands of products sold in its stores, clubs and online”, a Wal-Mart spokesman said Thursday. The company operates through three segments: Walmart US , Walmart worldwide , and Sam’s Club.

Stephens decreased their target price on shares of Wal-Mart Stores from $97.00 to $90.00 and set an “overweight” rating for the company in a research note on Friday, May 22nd. It operates ecommerce websites in 11 countries.

More associates working more hours to elevate the customer experience is the pledge Walmart COO Judith McKenna is making to holiday shoppers this season.

She added: “More and more, customers are turning to the convenience of digital and mobile shopping and we are going to make the experience at Walmart simple and easy”. The company hopes to improve its customer service with an eye toward encouraging shoppers to spend more. The firm found that retailers have changed their approach to hiring in the face of growing e-commerce.

The company has another Neighborhood Market store planned for the site of the closed Family Mart grocery store at the corner of North Houston Road and Green Street in the northern part of the city. S&P 500 has rallied 1.17% during the last 52-weeks.
