Walmart in New Orleans evacuated after armed robbery

WWLTV.com A SWAT team responded to a possible robbery at a Walmart store in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The New Orleans Police Department says a Walmart store has been evacuated following a report of an armed robbery.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt.

About 6 a.m., a man wearing a hoodie and carrying a weapon entered the store, located in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. Spokesman Gary Flot said in an emailed statement that a SWAT team searched the store but the suspect was not found.

The incident began before 7 a.m.at the store in the 4300 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

Flot said he did not have a description of the suspect.

The SWAT team has arrived on scene to assist officers in the situation.
