Walmart is selling two $10 Android handsets with 2009-era specs
Emerging markets like India and China are well-known for its cheap Android handsets, but even there you can’t find smartphones priced at less than $10.

At the time of this writing, the Lucky is sold out, but it looks like Walmart also sells the TracFone Sunrise L15G, which appears to be identical to the Lucky and costs $9.82, too. However for that price, you shouldn’t expect them to run Marshmallow.
So essentially what you get is a cruddy phone (one Walmart reviewer called it “rubbish”) and you are forced to endure Tracfone’s punitive unlocking policy – you must sign up for overpriced service for at least a year before you can swap carriers to Verizon, AT&T or another more reasonably priced network. So if you’re looking for a quick fix to get you through that dead time between contracts, or just want to know what $10 will buy you in smartphone world, head on over to Walmart and check out the Lucky.
The phone sports a small 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display and includes a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. At the back, there’s a 3-megapixel photo snapper that lacks autofocus and LED flash but offers video recording. The LG phone offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0 connectivity options as well. It would also be available through other sales channels and other regions like the United Kingdom in the coming future.

You can go ahead and spend $10 on the new smartphone, but if the latest Android experience is your primary requirement, there isn’t anything pleasing. “There are a bunch of stories going around today about a supposed $10 Android phone being sold at Walmart, which seem to be driven by foreign journalists who don’t understand how Tracfone or Walmart work”. That being said, the new smartphone strives to persuade a few feature phone users to start keeping Android in their pockets.
