Want a Nexus 5X? Get ready to buy a power cord

The smartphone is packed together with a USB Type-C port which is basically a 15W USB Type-C charger and a USB Type-C cable. But the problem is there are only a handful of computers so far that support the new connector out of the box, such as Apples 12-inch MacBook and Googles Chromebook Pixel.

The new USB Type-C standard appearing on phones, computers and just about everything else offers faster charging times, faster data transfer speeds and the ability to do two jobs at once (like putting your laptop display on a big screen while charging it at the same time).

Thankfully, we are already seeing USB Type-C to USB Standard-A cables popping up all over the place.

Google announced the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P on 29 September, with the Nexus 5X starting at Rs 31,990 in the Indian market.

Just a heads-up to those buying a Nexus 5X, but you should be aware that your phone doesn’t come with a cable that will allow you to plug your phone into a computer or your old charging adapters.

Oddly the Nexus 6P DOES come with a USB Type-C to USB Standard-A plug cable in addition to the other two cords the 5X has in its box. It also features a 12.3 MP rear, a 5MP front camera and is backed by a 2,700 mAh battery.

The Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch screen, 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB RAM, 12.3 MP rear and 8MP front camera and a 3,450 mAh battery.
