Want to see farmer’s income getting doubled by 2022: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a farmers’ rally at Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday as part of the efforts to create awareness about the Centre’s pro-farmer initiatives, including the new crop insurance scheme. Hordes of senior Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Radha Mohan Singh, Maneka Gandhi, Sanjiv Balliayan, Santosh Gangwar, along with several others, would be on the dais along with Mr Modi during the event. Prime Minister Modi further said that farmers want at least one member of their family to take up job because they know they can not just sustain on agriculture.

“I wish to double the income of farmers by 2022 when India will celebrate 75 years of its Independence”, he added.
“The Prime Minister has said that Ministry of Power must strive to complete electrification of 200 villages every week by following up with state implementing agencies regularly”, a source said adding, that progress with regard to electrification of villages should be properly highlighted.

The PM also emphasised on the need of the technoligical adnacement in agri sector, he said,”We have taken multiple steps to promote scientific methods in agriculture since we came to power”. I feel that then only my dream will be fulfilled, he said.
