Warburton rubbishes Van Persie rumours
Former Man United and Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie could be in line for a shock move to Rangers.

However, talkSPORT said on Thursday that the Netherlands global would not be making the switch to the Scottish Premiership and Warburton has confirmed that there is “no substance” in the speculation.
Speaking to the media, the Gers boss insisted: “I have no idea where the rumour has emanated from”.
Warburton told reporters: “I woke up to a barrage of missed calls and text messages”.
“He’s an unbelievably talented player but absolutely nothing in it whatsoever”. “I’m both bemused and amused”.
The Helsingborg teenager took to Twitter to shoot down the claims, posting: “Me?”
“We want a real challenge, against teams who are pushing”, he said.
“They’ve signed nine or 10, including Joey of course, and he’s just figuring now, so they’ve got some quality as well”.
“But we’re in no panic for it”.
Mark Warburton will look to reinforce Rangers’ back-line before their Scottish Premiership opener against Hamilton after seeing his side’s defence brutally exposed by Burnley.
“It was always going to be a tough test for us, the way they play and the level of player they have got so it acted as a really good warm up for next week.”
Warburton said: “We need one or two more; we’ve said that for a number of weeks but you’ve got to get the right players in”.
“If we can find the one or two who will add value, then we will move”.

Gray, who worked with Warburton at Brentford before joining Burnley in a £9m deal a year ago, netted a hat-trick as the Clarets’ strolled to a 3-1 friendly win over the Gers on Saturday afternoon.
