If you haven’t noticed already, there’s no shot in hell of a white Christmas on the East Coast this year.

Christmas Eve Forecast: Record-shattering warmth today
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in some parts of the country, but in others it feels more like a typical spring day. Green Christmas wins out this year with record-breaking temperatures making for a holiday that could get Heat Miser singing.

It was the warmest Christmas Eve in the history of New York City, where residents and tourists alike strolled the streets in shorts and T-shirts as temperatures hit 72 degrees. While further north in eastern North America, Toronto is also expected to reach a new record high of 17 degrees Celsius (62 degrees F).

Not only are we in for a snow-less Christmas, but the temperatures are going to be leaps and bounds above normal.

At the weather service in Upton, New York, Buccola recalled the chilly temperatures of the past two winters, when numerous snowstorms swept across the state from December through February.

In the Springfield area, temperatures are expected to be over 60 degrees by 9 a.m. and continue upward to a high of 66 to 70 degrees in the afternoon, according to Western Mass News.
