Warm weather welcomes mosquitoes, possible Zika concerns
Six people in Kentucky have already been infected. As summer approaches and officials prepare for possible Zika outbreaks, Pennsylvania’s family doctors are telling their patients to be vigilant, but not to panic over this potential public health threat.

It’s the start of the mosquito season in Kentucky – and the state is taking steps to ensure that the Zika virus does not become a serious problem here.
Kightlinger says it’s recommended that pregnant women don’t travel to Zika transmission areas.
Jill Oviatt, a spokesperson for CVMVCD, said there are no signs of the virus in the Coachella Valley yet, but Aedes aegypti mosquitoes have been found. Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are also known as yellow fever mosquitoes.
Some 57 countries and territories are now reporting cases of people being infected, most by mosquitoes that can carry the Zika virus.
