Warner Bros. Eyeing a Harley Quinn Movie
The moment we knew Margot Robbie was cast as Harley Quinn, we knew she’d be a good fit.

Between Marvel and DC Comics, 15 superhero films have been released over the last eight years, and only now are females being featured in the lead role.
Holy spinoff-iolees! Fans are now buzzing with Harley Quinn hype, as Warner Bros has announced they’re working on a Gotham-based spin-off film. But one character in particular has already so seized audiences’ imaginations that studio Warner Bros. reportedly wants to build a film specifically around her, while also highlighting other female heroes and villains from the comics-verse. Stay tuned to Batman News for more on this exciting new possibility! If anything, it sounds like this might be something of a DC female superhero showcase, possibly involving the Birds of Prey and Batgirl.
Obviously, it is too early to tell what a new film could be about or reveal any plot details, but names such as Batgirl and Birds of Prey have surfaced.
But who else will join them?
THR says that in addition to starring in the spinoff film, Robbie would also act as a producer. Interestingly, the ideas seem to come from Robbie, who hired a writer to develop the movie and pitched it to Warner Bros. And given that Harley’s nemesis and possible love interest in Suicide Squad is none other than Batman’s foe, the Joker, it could all tie together very easily.
Robbie is said to be a major driver of the project. In the process, she fell for DC’s female characters.
Harley is such an incredibly interesting character and I really think that Margot Robbie is going to knock it out of the park in Suicide Squad, which opens in theaters August 5, 2016.
