Warren: ‘Probably not’ Clinton’s running mate

The first people to find out who Clinton has chosen, after weeks of consideration, may be her supporters: Clinton’s campaign has asked voters to sign up for a text message alert about her pick. The timing for the unveiling of her choice is unclear. The campaign is eager to seize the spotlight from Republicans in the wake of their convention in Cleveland.

In recent days most of the talk in the vice presidential sweepstakes has centered on Virginia Sen.

Another senator, Cory Booker of New Jersey, along with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack were also among the final contenders, with Kaine having an edge, a Democratic source with knowledge of the discussions said.

Staff originally said they would hold off on the announcement until Saturday after someone opened fire at a Munich, Germany shopping mall, killing eight people and wounding others in a rampage that described as suspected terrorism. He would add a dose of energy and youthful appeal to the ticket and, as an African-American, would represent a key piece of Democrats’ demographic coalition, but he is relatively inexperienced, particularly on the worldwide stage.

The person was not authorized to discuss the campaign’s internal plans publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Clinton’s announcement Friday comes one day after the Republican National Convention wrapped up-with an ominous speech from her opponent, Donald Trump-and can help build excitement among Democrats going into Philadelphia next week. On Saturday, she is expected to appear at another rally at Florida International University in Miami.

Both men have emerged as attractive choices as Clinton has emphasized a desire to pick a No. 2 who is ready to be president.

Kaine, 58, has always been seen as a seasoned and safe choice for Clinton, who could help shore up support among white working-class voters.

Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, a former governor of the Commonwealth, is a leading candidate to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate on the Democratic ticket.

Kaine served as Governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010.

“I think its personal chemistry”, Brown told Nancy Cordes in Cleveland, “who does she like being with, who can she work with, who can she trust to carry on and carry out her agenda”.

But two Democrats close to Sen. I’ve seen it up close, I’ve worked for one, I’ve had that experience.

Warren made the comment Thursday night during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”. Obama returned the favor by naming Kaine one of his national co-chairs and after securing the Democratic nomination, he put Kaine on a short list as a potential running mate. Their replacement would be named, at least initially, by a Republican governor in their state, and Clinton is intent on trying to win a Democratic majority in the Senate. Critics of the deal, including Trump and Sanders, say it would be unfair to US workers and kill jobs. Housing secretary Julian Castro and labor secretary Thomas Perez, both Hispanic, have also been prominently mentioned, as has Massachusetts Sen.

Mrs Clinton was swift to respond to the billionaire’s remarks, pushing back on his claims that crime was on the rise as well as blasting his play on her slogan. That’s why Tim Kaine will be the Vice Presidential pick for Mrs. Clinton. Democrats familiar with her thinking say she believes Kaine passes those tests.
