Warriors beat Clippers 124-117

Golden State need just two more wins to match the best start ever to an National Basketball Association season, and no one in the league would bet against them given the extraordinary level of trust established by a roster that has barely changed since last season.

Curry, despite missing eight of his 11 3-point attempts, had 27 points to lead the Warriors, who improved to 8-0 at home this season and 26-0 in regular-season games since the Bulls’ last visit.

The Warriors could tie the all-time mark – set by Washington in 1948-49 and matched by Houston in 1993-94 – when they play at Denver on Sunday.

Stephen Curry scored 40 points and the Golden State Warriors rallied from a 23-point, first-half deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 124-117 Thursday night for their 13th consecutive victory to start the season. “It would be a huge accomplishment, because obviously doing something that hasn’t been done in the history of the league is special, but you never know if this opportunity will come back again”.

Curry said, “We’re a confident team that no matter how bad we’re playing we always feel like we have a shot”.

“We battled them the whole game”, Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said.

In Los Angeles, Kyle Lowry had 25 points, DeMar DeRozan scored seven of his 18 in the final 3:34, and Toronto snapped a three-game skid with a victory over the Lakers.

For the fourth straight game, the Warriors had the first-quarter blues, falling behind by as many as 11, 23-12, with the Bulls hitting 10 of their first 15 shots.

One thing that must be noted despite his dominance, one team Stephen Curry has not played well against in recent memory is the Chicago Bulls. It’s an absurd prediction to say, oh, sure the Warriors can pull this one out, but you’re also thinking it and maybe other teams are thinking it as well. On Wednesday, the Bulls began a four-game road trip with a 103-97 win over the Phoenix Suns without point guard Derrick Rose.

LeBron James scored 27 points with nine rebounds and six assists as the Cavaliers gained sole possession of the Eastern Conference lead with their ninth victory of the season. Nikola Mirotic and Kirk Hinrich scored 18 and 17 points, respectively.

The lead was 96-92 before Barnes buried the first of his 3s with 1:15 to go, making it a seven-point game. Jimmy Butler may be able to slow Curry at times, but when the Warriors have pieces like Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, it makes Friday’s task for the Bulls that much harder. G Shaun Livingston sat out with a strained left hip flexor. Chicago averages 105.6 points per away game, placing the team fifth in scoring.

The Golden State Warriors have been tested in each of their last two games and came out on top, keeping their flawless season alive.

In Boston, Avery Bradley scored 21 points and Isaiah Thomas added 18 points and nine assists as the Celtics routed Brooklyn. We even talked today about monitoring those minutes even closer now that we’re having these back-to-backs as we get deeper into the season. Both of these guards are coming off solid games.
