This proved to be the difference in the game and offered a bright sign as to what the future holds for the Nuggets.

ABOUT THE NUGGETS (6-7): Denver sits 29th in the league in 3-point defense, allowing opponents to go off at 38.8 percent from beyond the arc, and let the Suns connected on 15-of-27. Denver’s struggles to defend the 3-point line could also become a problem against the Warriors.

Offensively they were potent until the latter stages of the third.

Curry scored 19 points in the win Sunday, one of five Golden State players in double digits. They had 25 in all. However, Golden State put the game away thanks to its bench and cruised to victory. There simply wasn’t one.

And Curry’s 471 points during those 14 games is not only a lot of three-pointers, but it’s the fourth most points in the last 50 National Basketball Association seasons through the first fourteen games at least according to the above stat that flashed on the screen during ESPN’s broadcast of Golden State vs. Denver game. “When you play against a great team, you can’t do that because it’s tough to make that difference up”.

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 21 points, Stephen Curry had 19 and Harrison Barnes 17.

Mason Plumlee added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Blazers, who have won two straight after a seven-game skid.

On top of the Nuggets’ all around team success, rookie first round draft pick, point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, recorded a double double with 12 points and 10 assists.

Nuggets: F Kenneth Faried (L ankle sprain) was listed as questionable but was ruled out prior to tipoff.

Things don’t get any easier for the Nuggets, who, yes, are in the midst of a four-game homestand, but finish it with games against the L.A. Clippers and San Antonio Spurs.
