Warriors’ Curry named AP Male Athlete of Year
“That’s a real honor”, Curry said. (No seriously, and I’ll come back to that topic in a future article). “I should be good”.

Stephen Curry keeps winning.
Curry scored 19 points in 37 minutes of the 89-83 win against the Cavaliers.
All Jackson said was that young players want to emulate Curry’s shooting ability, and that the current focus on trying to emulate Curry’s ability to shoot the long ball is hurting the overall game of up-and-coming basketball players. Of the 13 times the National Basketball Association has played five games on Christmas, this was the first that all were decided by 10 points or fewer. “It’s all about practice and routine and repetition that can help you get to that point, so you can’t skip that part of the process”. “I’m appreciative of that acknowledgement because it’s across all different sports….”
“He is a special player, a special talent, a special person more than anything, and I think it’s great for our league”, LeBron James said, per Spears. “I’ll hopefully be able to get back to 100 percent”. There was a compliment in there. I don’t know what he means by that.
Through 29 games this season, the 27-year-old Curry has been playing the best stretch of his career.
“Steph Curry’s great”, Jackson said.
Curry returned to the court after suffering a right calf injury in the first half, but it didn’t stop the League’s MVP from continuing his early-season hot streak. He’s a champion. Understand what I’m saying when I say this.
To a degree, he’s hurting the game. “And what I mean by that is that I go into these high school gyms, I watch these kids, and the first thing they do is they run to the 3-point line”. You are not Steph Curry. Work on your other aspects of the game. People think that he’s just a knockdown shooter.
Jackson is simply saying that the next generation of basketball players need to work on the fundamentals. “There were a lot of little things as far as the shots were concerned… that did catch up with us”, Cavaliers coach Dave Blatt said.
Jackson later responded to the ensuing criticism of his comments, tweeting, “Read the Quote!!!” He joined LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird as the only basketball players to win the honor in the 85 years of the award.

But when you listen to the dialogue in it’s entirety, one can also flip the narrative being advertised by the media as one that showcases just how great Steph Curry’s former coach believes his former point guard has become and how much more his game is than just chucking up three pointers. Honestly, I would be shocked if they won LESS than 76.
