Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors was arrested for assault in Easy Lansing, Michigan over the weekend.

His arraignment is officially scheduled for July 20, according to court documents.
“It was basically an altercation between two guys”, East Lansing Police Lieutenant Scott Wrigglesworth told ESPN.
Messages seeking comment were left for Green. He played four seasons for Michigan State under coach Tom Izzo.
In a statement, the Warriors said the team was “aware” of the situation, but little else.
The Warriors said in a statement on Monday: “We are aware of the news involving Draymond Green in MI over the weekend”.
MLive.com was only able to get East Lansing Police to say they arrested a “Current NBA Player” though they were able to verify through other sources that “Player” was indeed Green. It should be noted that Green was only arrested and he has not been found guilty of assaulting a man. “That’s all we’re confirming right now”.
Green, originally from Saginaw, had his best year in the NBA as the Golden State Warriors returned to the NBA Finals.
Green had a forgettable Finals performance as he was suspended in Game 5, allowing the Cavs to win, forcing it to a Game 6 with the Warriors up 3-2.
“It was basically an altercation between two guys”, police told the United States sports broadcaster on Monday.
With all of the concern around domestic violence, a cause that Green himself has fought against alongside the National Basketball Association, fans can be relieved that the victim was reportedly male. Police said the prosecution would continue from there.
Last season, Green averaged career-highs of 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in the 2015-2016 season.
