Warriors earn record-setting 73rd regular season victory
Yeah, that does sound absolutely ridiculous. These next two months will be absolutely wild. Golden State finished 39-2 at home for the second straight year.

Which is why it can’t be ruled out. The unfathomable is their bucket list. Steve Kerr played for that Bulls team, and was the one who went on to coach these Warriors to a level not even that club could reach.
Kerr, who missed the start of the season as he recovered from back surgery, received plenty of praise from Australian centre Andrew Bogut.
And last season’s playoffs (when the Warriors won the title by going 16-5 in the postseason) and this season’s accomplishments have shown that the Warriors flourish in the biggest games. Have they gone under the radar? When critics and experts picked their opponents, the Warriors really sent a message.
They milled around on the court, hugged each other, waved to the crowd and soaked in the glee of 73. They bested the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls by one victory; a previous record that was considered untouchable but the Warriors did it in style. Aldridge finished with an average of 18 PPG and also became one of the Spurs go to guys down the stretch. “Get them in foul trouble”. When Kobe knocked down his first couple shots in the fourth it brought back memories of all the times I rooted against him, and knew he was about to take over and win the game single handedly. And with the nation watching. Barring an unexpected upset, this will be the matchup in the Western Conference Finals. And merely winning a second consecutive championship might not be, either.
It would be a fitting showdown in many ways as the Warriors have made no secret about trying to model their franchise after the sustained excellence of the Spurs. “He is going to have to play the best ball we’ve seen”. The 1996 Bulls went 15-3. Still sporting two big scratches from Wednesday’s battle, Klay Thompson’s looking forward to seeing the fans again at Oracle, no matter what they’re wearing. Their only win against the Warriors was March 19 when Boris Diaw was a surprise start for San Antonio.
If you are thinking no, the answer is yes. But coach Dave Joerger, Tony Allen and Matt Barnes will put up a fight and might make the Spurs work a little harder than anyone expects.
They didn’t feel like a team coming out of a near-death fight with history. Andre Iguodala scored 20 off the bench…. Abiding by that view, Stephen Curry and his Warriors have been excellent throughout this season.
Houston is in danger of being swept.
The Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies at home in their last game of the season with a final score of 125-104, ending the current National Basketball Association season with a record of 73-9.
The Rockets were the worst team at grabbing defensive rebounds.
The good news is that the Houston Rockets managed to make the playoffs despite their horrendous 2015-2016 regular season.
Fans in Los Angeles bought up just about every piece of Bryant memorabilia they could find at Staples Center, and 350 miles or so up the road at Oracle Arena, Warriors fans cheered long and loud when the 73rd win was finally secure. The Warriors are 12-1 in their last 13 against the Rockets and Curry has sizzled in those games, shooting 54 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range.

The Clippers would meet the Warriors in the second round if both teams advance.
