Warriors favored over LeBron and Cavaliers in the Finals

It will be James’ seventh straight trip to The Finals and eighth overall.

The Cavaliers enter the NBA Finals as underdogs in the eyes of most experts.

Though Kerr did not address media Thursday, he indicated earlier this week that he would be comfortable going into the NBA Finals, which begin June 1, with acting head coach Mike Brown at the helm. Even with the addition of Kevin Durant, the Cavs know they beat this team past year and there’s no reason for them to not believe they can’t win again.

Nonetheless, Durant’s teammates are here to defend the Warriors spot at the top.

From hitting the championship-winning shot against the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals to stepping up at a time when small forward LeBron James was struggling through foul trouble against the Celtics, Irving has never shied away from that kind of stage. It really comes down to Kevin Durant. I would love to be here long-term and win championships here, but as you guys know it’s a business and anything can happen. He missed a lot of time due to injury this season, but when he finally returned to the court, the Warriors became nearly unbeatable. He played just 18 minutes in game two while playing through the lingering pain. LeBron James is striving to prove himself as the G.O.A.T.

In addition to leading all scorers he had eight assists and eight rebounds.

Golden State led the league with a 67-15 record this season and is 27-1 in their last 28 games, including the playoffs. Sure, both players were the catalyst on their respective teams and both had an epic No. 2 and great supporting cast, but this hands too much credit (or deficit) to the player for what the team did. Detroit knocked out Chicago in the Eastern Conference Finals in 1989 and 1990, but the Bulls swept the Pistons in the 1991 rematch.

It was a very welcomed sight in Irving’s case, after he rolled his left ankle in the third quarter of Cleveland’s Game 4 win. That means half the series have been over in five or fewer games.

The Cavaliers, which rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to beat the Warriors in last year’s finals, sets an National Basketball Association record in winning its 13th straight playoff series closeout game.

“I think I fell in love with the game because of Mike, but when you’re growing up and seeing Michael Jordan it’s nearly like a god, so I never did believe I could be Mike”. If the Cavaliers are able to get performances from like this from Williams and the rest of the bench mob, they could be a tough out against the Golden State Warriors. Will they become the first team in National Basketball Association history to go undefeated in a postseason?

The Los Angeles Lakers had set the previous record of 12 straight wins in potential elimination games from 2000-2004.

For the sneaker fan, the looks throughout the series were eye-catching, but there wasn’t much variety. The initial injury forced him to miss only two regular season games until he aggravated it during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Washington Wizards last week.

LeBron James scored 35 points and passed Michael Jordan to become the NBA’s all-time playoff scoring leader
