This 106-103 comeback win over the Utah Jazz on Monday night may not have developed if not for essential contributions from a couple guys rarely seen in headlines or highlights.

Gerald Green scored a season-high 25 points while starting in place of Luol Deng, and the Heat beat NY 97-78 for their second victory over the Knicks this week.

In San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard tallied 22 points and six San Antonio players scored in double-figures as the Spurs won their fifth straight game to remain undefeated at home. The Warriors haven’t lost a game yet, but the Jazz have a shot to change that.

Aside from that, Green also contributed 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in last Friday’s 135-116 win against Phoenix.

Golden State is off to one of their best starts in franchise history. Green had already done yeoman’s work in boxing out athletic marvel Derrick Favors.

It was Covington who initiated a Sixers’ comeback from a 16-point deficit late in the third quarter, capping that period with a three-point play that got Philadelphia rolling.

Golden State’s ability to maintain focus on the team that is in front of them can be attributed to their early season success.

That’s how good the Warriors are at the moment.

Hornacek admired the ball movement of the Warriors. They have the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league at 1.88. The Warriors have led teams by 15 or more points for 167 minutes while they have only trailed teams this season for 149 minutes, most of which came in the Los Angeles Clippers contest where they eventually won in overtime. The sixth-year pro has a unique dribbling warm-up before games that includes dribbling multiple balls at once and being blindfolded.

This is the first meeting of the season for the conference rivals.

Golden State comes in at 167-0 on the season after wins over the Lakers and Suns and the team has a pretty soft schedule moving forward.

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Utah’s last 5 games when playing Golden State. The slow-paced Jazz controlled tempo and generally played the style they prefer, trailing by double digits for all of 14 seconds on the night.

Utah is 3-6 ATS in its last 9 games when playing at home against Golden State. Rajon Rondo had 21 points, and Rudy Gay added 20 for the Kings, who had dropped six straight to Dallas and 21 of the previous 23 meetings. Curry only had seven points on 3-of-8 shooting before the break. I know that it’s probably going to be tonight for Gordon Hayward. He cut to catch dump-off passes from a driving Bledsoe, scored in transition and stepped behind the three-point line to shoot 2-of-3 from deep. The start of a season after winning the championship is always hard, and doing it with an interim coach is even more challenging. Phoenix took advantage and crawled back to within 11 points with 7:55 left in the third quarter. The Warriors’ tremendous playfrom last year’s historicseason seamlessly continues this season. The Suns shot 48.9 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.

I also felt that, in order for the Jazz to have a chance, the Warriors would have to have a poor shooting night.

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors remain perfect to start the season after defeating the Phoenix Suns on Friday night
