Warriors lose composure in humbling defeat to Cavaliers
Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors reacts to a foul call during the fourth quarter as LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers looks on in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena on June 16, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio.

It wasn’t just James’ final line of 41 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists, four steals and three blocks, it was the precision passing that makes him as unique of a talent as the league has ever seen. Never mind that LeBron James and Kyrie Irving became the first teammates to score 41 points apiece in a finals game, or that the Warriors looked limited without Draymond Green (who, to be fair, was suspended due to a league review).
Thirty-two teams led the NBA Finals 3-1 before this series and all 32 teams won the championship.
LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers dunks in the first half against the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland.
Curry finished with 30 points on 8-20 shooting from the floor (6 of his 8 field goals were from behind the perimeter) before being ejected (for the first time in his career) after throwing his mouthguard following a play that ended with him being called for his sixth personal foul.
“(Curry’s) a great player”, James said of Curry after the game. Not just in how they appeal to fans – though those Curry 2s certainly gave the team a hit – but cool in the way they approached games.
Stephen Curry was going for a simple layup, but LeBron James came following through and blocking Curry’s shot. “So it got the best of me, but I’ll be all right for next game”.
Coming from someone whose husband just set the National Basketball Association record with 73 regular season wins and came back from a 3-1 deficit in the Western Conference finals, Ayesha Curry’s is quite an opinion.
“It’s going to be the hardest thing we’ve ever done”, Irving said after the game of going into Oakland and winning again.
Only, it wasn’t. Somehow, a Cleveland team that had been 8-1 at home in the playoffs and seemed to have a seventh game locked up, let down just a bit in the third, opening the door just wide enough for the potent Warriors to bust through.
She also used social media Thursday to complain about how the bus carrying the Warriors’ friends and family was delayed before Game 6.
ESPN reported that big money was already being spent for Game 7 tickets, with four courtside seats selling for a total of $71,996 on StubHub. He gets six fouls called and three of them were absolutely ridiculous. “He’s going to start on Sunday, and he’s still one of our key guys, and I’m very confident that he’ll come out and play well”.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr thought the fouls on Curry were bad, too. They were down 17 in Game 3. He’s the fifth player in NBA Finals history to post back-to-back games of 40 or more, a club whose only other members are Jerry West, Shaquille O’Neal, Rick Barry and Michael Jordan. “I’m happy he threw his mouthpiece”. Andre Iguodala started in place of injured Andrew Bogut, but suffered from lower back tightness throughout the game. Curry scored a team-high 30 points to keep the Warriors in the game, but this was not his finest work.
“He had another unbelievable game”, Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said. Golden State played tentatively at both ends, trying to force extra passes instead of shooting on offense and looking hopelessly lost on defense.

“To repeat a performance like this would definitely be tough”, Irving said after Game 5.
