Warriors now 17-0
The Warriors shot their way into the record books again, setting the league mark for the most 3-pointers in a half with 15 and the franchise record with 22 for the game on their way to a 135-116 win against the Phoenix Suns on Friday that improved Golden State’s record to 17-0.

“We have an edge, man”, Curry said. “We love the feeling of winning and our confidence is high right now”.
“We’ll look at the tape and we’ll look at things”, Hornacek told the media after the game”. In addition, Curry has had at least 20 points in each of his last 13 games.
Curry, the reigning NBA MVP, made 9-of-16 3-point attempts and reserve guard Leandro Barbosa made all five of his treys while scoring 21 points. Golden State has won 21 straight regular season games, just 12 short of the record owned by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers.
Said Phoenix forward Markieff Morris, “They shoot threes like layups”. But they also like easy shots, and this season 29.5% of their shots come in the restricted area (the semi-circle near the basket that typically includes layups and dunks). Burks, who also had five rebounds and four assists, scored nine points in the decisive fourth quarter. Green and Klay Thompson sank two treys apiece. “We got down 16 points in the third and found a way to go ahead”.
“We’ve got a really great team, we’ve got some great guys back”. “We didn’t do that”. Instead, the Warriors got two wide open layups and some more Steph, which was more on the Suns than it was Curry being magnificent.
Suns had a nice run of cutting the deficit down to 11, but that was with both Bledsoe and Knight in the starting lineup while Curry and Green got rest.
The 3-point record could well have fallen had Curry not sat out the fourth quarter. Golden State had a 75-57 lead at the break after matching its highest-scoring half in a so-far flawless season.
Warriors have outscored their opponents by +269 points, the most in National Basketball Association history through the season’s first 17 games (via @GSWStats). The Warriors scored the game’s first eight points and built a 44-27 lead after one quarter.
Elsewhere, Gerald Green contributed a season-high 25 points as the Miami Heat downed the New York Knicks 97-78, the Atlanta Hawks enjoyed a 116-101 success against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Orlando Magic routed the Milwaukee Bucks 114-90.
Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points as San Antonio won its fifth straight, holding the Atlanta to several season lows offensively in a 108-88 win. The Warriors made 15 of 20 3s in the first half. Harrison Barnes left the game with 9:03 remaining in the third quarter after suffering an ankle injury.
“He does so much for us”, Walton said.

And being one of the world’s most ardent basketball fans did not escape Warriors front office executive Cabalquinto’s attention as among the things she learned while getting to know more basketball as an industry was that the PBA is the second oldest professional basketball league ever making the fan base in the Philippines obviously rabid about their basketball and that the heritage of basketball in the Philippines is super strong.
