During Golden State’s long flight home from Wisconsin late Saturday, Walton could finally take a breath and reflected on the remarkable start his team had before the Warriors’ unbeaten run ended. “We’re trying to compete for a championship”.

The Bucks kept it going against the Warrior reserves early, but Green then took matters into his own hands with an 8-0 run on his own to make it 100-97 with just over six minutes remaining. He cut Detroit’s lead by making an off-balance three-pointer to cut it to 145-144 with 4.7 seconds left. “You talk about one guy’s class and then you go the same route, that’s not class. They’re the world champs, good luck to them for the rest of the season and the same for us”. They pounded them in the paint, swung the ball around for 31 assists, and as inconceivable as it would have seemed before the game, Milwaukee were simply the better team. “What I’ve learned is that I miss it”, Kerr said. The crowd will also be into the game, and the Splash Brothers of Curry and Thompson will be draining 3-pointers all night. The organization is leaving the timetable of his return up to Kerr, who guided the Warriors to last season’s National Basketball Association title.

“You can’t just pinpoint one thing”, coach Jeff Hornacek said.

In other games, Tobias Harris and Nik Vucevic each scored 25 points as the Orlando Magic downed the Portland Trail Blazers 102-94, the Indiana Pacers beat the Brooklyn Nets 104-97, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 97-88, the Phoenix Suns overcame the New Orleans Pelicans 104-88 and the Utah Jazz were 97-88 winners over the Denver Nuggets. “It has been kind of a playoff feel just with the streak and all the media and attention around”, Green said.

Chandler believes the Suns will get better defensively because, “What choice do we have?” There are many reasons that they should be able to come out on top in their Bucks game though. Golden State players didn’t have a problem with the dunk, it was what happened afterwards what they remembered. Michael Carter-Williams led seven players in double figures with 24 points as Milwaukee fell to 10-18 on the season. They have dropped the jaws of even the most carping of critics with their historic feats and just like Luke Skywalker, the force is strong with this team.
