According to reports, the NBA champion’s misdemeanor assault case is now being reviewed by USA Basketball.
“Early Sunday morning, Draymond Green was arrested for assault in our downtown business district”.
OMG! Draymond Green couldn’t get ahold of his anger when he allegedly got in a bar fight on July 10. Ingham County Sheriff Wrigglesworth “said the victim was male and that he suffered no injuries” but wouldn’t discuss the alleged assault in any more detail.
“It was basically an altercation between two guys”, police at the scene told ESPN.
The Warriors, in a statement, said they were “aware” of news concerning Green. He averaged 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game this past year.
The Saginaw native has become a standout in four National Basketball Association seasons after finishing his Michigan State career in 2012 as an All-American and the leading rebounder in program history with 1,096.
Green, a Michigan native who once starred for the Michigan State’s men’s basketball team, was a pivotal member of the Warriors’ 2015 title run and is slated to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics next month as a member of the usa men’s basketball team.
Green, 26, appeared in 81 games for the Warriors last season and started 23 games in Golden State’s playoff run to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games.
