Green was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday for the alleged assault in the downtown business district of East Lansing, Michigan, according to East Lansing police Lt. Scott Wriggelsworth.

Green, 26, was arrested for assault Sunday in East Lansing, Michigan. Green’s latest incident is a setback to what the Golden State Warriors and U.S. men’s national basketball team are trying to achieve.

Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the public information officer for the East Lansing Police Department, wouldn’t refer to Green by name when contacted by The Huffington Post, but said that the National Basketball Association player must return to East Lansing within 10 days for his arraignment. If convicted, Green would face a maximum of 93 days in prison besides a fine of $500.

The Warriors, too, declined to provide a detailed comment on the matter and noted that they are still compiling information regarding the incident. The Warriors need additional players and depth after they committed most of their salary cap to Durant.

According to reports, the NBA champion’s misdemeanor assault case is now being reviewed by USA Basketball.

Green is scheduled for arraignment July 20 – in the midst of training camp with Team USA – but his attorney, James Heos, reportedly waived that right, sparing Green from appearing in person.

Green, 26, has played four National Basketball Association seasons, all with the Warriors. The details of Green’s arrest are not known at this time. Green is part of Team USA which will compete in Rio next month at the Olympic games.
