Warriors staring down an ugly reality on brink of elimination

The Warriors, the team with 73 regular-season wins and the unanimous MVP, spoke afterward of defying the odds. They got there fast in 2012 and won their first home NBA Finals game over LeBron James and the Heat only to lose the next four. It’s a hard thing to accomplish, and they’ve been close, but they haven’t done it, and they’re coming after us.

OAKLAND, Calif. – The growing search to find reasons for Stephen Curry’s two-game slump wound its way back to the Bay Area on Wednesday, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr once again said Curry’s right knee is not the culprit. “We did a great job of defending home court”. The Warriors were 12-0 this season the game after a loss. In Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors are in a tight series with the Oklahoma City Thunder at 1-1 record.

“Momentum can shift quickly in the playoffs”, Kerr said. The Warriors were able to make that change onto James, and with no disrespect meant to the rest of the Cleveland team, this was enough to win the series.

“I want Kevin and Russell and those guys that have been here and have invested so much to be able to communicate with me, and I want to be able to go to them”.

Bryant knows a team overcoming a 3-1 deficit is entirely possible since he’s experienced it firsthand when his Lakers were on the wrong end of one such comeback in the 2006 postseason.

Golden State has lost by a combined 52 points over the two games in Chesapeake Energy Arena. The certainty, however, is the Warriors need Curry to get hot if they’re going to come back and win this series in an attempt to win a second straight National Basketball Association title and avoid being known simply as one of the best regular-season teams of all time.

Curry was 6-for-20 overall, and 2-for-10 from three-point range for 19 points. That’s my favourite expression these days. “That’s my favorite expression these days – sources with knowledge of the team’s intimate thinking”. Who would that be?

“I know he’s not injured-if he were injured, he would not be playing”, Kerr said. “I mean, if he were injured, he would not be playing”. Is he bothered a little bit by the layoff? Russell Westbrook netted a a triple-double (36 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists) in Game 4. The idea now is to go home and get one win.

The Warriors dispatched the Rockets in five games, and likewise knocked off the Portland Trail Blazers in five, albeit testier, games.

“I think the last couple of games, he hasn’t played as well as he can”, the coach said.
