Warriors’ Stephen Curry knows records mean nothing without NBA title

An 82-game National Basketball Association regular season followed by four best-of-seven playoff series has boiled down to a one game “winner-take-all” title clash on Sunday between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.

James blocked Curry’s shot from behind and then got all mouthy about that and the rest of his concerto as the Cavaliers bullied the Golden State Warriors, sending the NBA Finals back to Oakland, Calif., for Sunday’s Game 7, a television ratings bonanza.

In an era of ball-dominating point guards and vanishing post players, LeBron James’ pursuit of Stephen Curry on Thursday night late in the fourth quarter of a game the Cleveland Cavaliers were leading by 13 was an exclamation point to the convincing argument that James had made about who remains the NBA’s premier impact player. “You can go out and play as great as you’ve played before, and you still can come out on the short end of the stick”. But other than that, that doesn’t take any spotlight off of what my job is on the floor and what these next 48 minutes are going to be like in Game 7.

Teams have swapped storylines.

And when Golden State sags defensively to help stop his drives, James is finding the open man or pulling up and making his outside jumper, considered the weakest aspect of his otherwise resplendent game.

No team in National Basketball Association history has ever come back from being down 3-1 in the Finals, and the Cavaliers are on the doorstep of making history.

“I give a lot of credit to my teammates”, James said. “The game has always given back to me”.

“It’s on everybody’s shoulders”. It’s a great opportunity for us at home, in front of our fans, to again try to win a championship.

Whatever happens on Sunday, whether or not the Cavaliers end up taking home the championship, LeBron has already done something none of us expected would ever happen: He has topped himself.

It’s the fifth Game 7 of his career – just one other Finals Game 7, a win against San Antonio – and James has averaged 34.4 points, 9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in those games. We like our chances.

“They kind of profiled my father-in-law and thought he was (the imposter)”, Curry said. Thompson, too. They went down 22 about two minutes into the third, and the weight of that seemed to snap them out of their zombie-state.

Members of the 76ers’ brass dined with Simmons and agent Rich Paul in Cleveland prior to Game 6 of the NBA Finals, according to ESPN.

“Come Sunday, we’ve got to blitz them”.

The loss topped off a day full of mishaps for Curry, all tweeted about, in which she said her cousin wasn’t let into a casino because he was wearing Warriors gear, the team’s family bus wasn’t allowed into the building for the game until right before tipoff and her father was nearly arrested after being racially profiled. I get it. I do. It’s not time to hang our heads. How do they make up for the loss of Andrew Bogut? Respect them, but never fear them.

“I feel like we play all five guys on the court and everyone has their role and that’s how we maximize our talent”.

But with passion has come problems for the Warriors.

After, Stephen Curry was fined for chucking his mouthpiece in to the gallery after fouling out of the game at the death hours. Phillips was roundly criticized for bungling Game 5 of the San Antonio Spurs-Oklahoma City Thunder Western Conference Semifinals, after he failed to call an intentional foul Kawhi Leonard attempted to commit on Russell Westbrook, potentially costing the Spurs the game and eventually the series. “You see the Bulls, they ran the triangle, you have to have a certain type of player for the triangle”.

Asked about Klay Thompson saying after Game 6 that it will have, 100 percent, been a failed season if the Warriors don’t win Game 7, Curry essentially agreed. He’s clearly outplayed Curry in the postseason. “Just saw it live sry”, she said in a Tweet.

Then Cleveland took Game 3, and they looked pretty good, right? What you do is a reflection on him. James’ ability to survey the defense and expose its weak spots has transformed the Cavs’ offense, which lacked rhythm and connection. “We want this called, ‘” he said.
