Favors hit two free throws to tie the game after buckets by Green and Curry, but then Curry sank another 3-pointer (this one with Hood’s hand right in his face) to push the lead to 104-101 with 51 seconds left. Reigning MVP Steph Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a big lead over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night with five ridiculous three-pointers en route to 19 first-quarter points. Green came up with the key rebound in the final seconds on Monday but fell just short of his third straight triple-double with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Warriors G/F Brandon Rush started in place of injured Harrison Barnes (ankle) for the second straight game, and he scored three points. Ranked sixth, the Golden State Warriors rebound 46.1 times per game. “And if we shoot a lot of good ones, we hopefully have a good percentage because ball movement leads to in-rhythm shots”. The Golden State Warriors have won 13 of their last 15 regular season road games. Gordon Hayward leads in points with 17.7 per game.

Wade scored 30 for Miami, which cut a 14-point deficit to one in the fourth quarter but never led after halftime. They have gotten off to the best start in National Basketball Association history.

“I didn’t think he brought much energy to the Milwaukee game, and I didn’t think he brought much energy tonight”, Van Gundy said of the two beatings the Pistons received this week.

In other results, Paul Millsap (26 points, 11 rebounds), Jeff Teague (25 points) and Al Horford (21 points, 13 rebounds) helped the Atlanta Hawks to a 106-100 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Keeping Utah in the game was its length and athleticism inside, which caused tough shots inside for Golden State and created some good Jazz looks in the paint, forcing many shooting fouls. Portland (7-11) also lost guard Damian Lillard two minutes into the second half with abdominal pain.
