Warriors too good for Los Angeles Lakers

Can L.A. keep up with Golden State? Stephen Curry left the bench in the second half after his shin collided with Roy Hibbert’s leg. Curry did not return to the game.

You know the old adage, “Once you put it on the internet, it’s there forever”.

In the win against the Charlotte Hornets Monday night, Draymond Green had his stamp all over the place.

But the Warriors (32-2) finally decided enough was enough.

The Lakers would cut the deficit to 66-55 with 8:04 remaining in the third quarter, but that was as close as they’d get for the rest of the game.

The Golden State Warriors haven’t accomplished anything yet in 2015-16, but they’re on pace for a historic season.

Arron Afflalo and Carmelo Anthony both scored 23 points for the Knicks. “He just moves without it, and once he gets the ball, within a second that can be three points”.

In their previous three meetings, the Warriors offence has simply blown the Lakers away, with the reigning champs averaging 126 points per game across the season series.

Curry then tested himself in the warm-up and was cleared to play. The coach was critical of Randle’s maturity after the second-year pro expressed dismay with being pulled in the fourth quarter.

Rounding things out, Speights seems to have finally found his groove of a year ago.

Boston’s Jae Crowder scored a career-high 25 points with a strong start and a clutch finish, steering the Celtics to a 103-94 victory against Brooklyn, which has lost seven straight home games.

He had 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists to join Tom Gola in 1959-60 as the only Warriors players ever to get triple-doubles in three straight games.

“It’s unbelievable”, Thompson said of the Warriors’ start. “At times, it can be a little frustrating when you’re playing as hard as you can and they hit some of the shots they hit”.

Walker and Lamb had 22 points apiece for the Hornets, who were playing without starting center Al Jefferson (knee) and shooting guard Nicolas Batum (toe).

Curry didn’t sound like a guy wanting time off, he wants to play through it.

“It’s pretty unbelievable”, he said.

Green’s string of consecutive triple-doubles ended at three. “It did this time”.

Kristaps Porzingis had 17 points and 11 rebounds for NY. Looney has been recovering from hip surgery after his participation with the club’s Summer League team and has been practicing with the Warriors of late. The Warriors did drop one game to the Mavericks in his absence, and the Lakers will hope to take advantage in a similar way if he has to sit out tonight.
