Warriors Win Another Crucial Game

Chants of “M-V-P!” came from every corner of the arena as Curry did it all for his highest-scoring total in 17 games against San Antonio – knocking down 3s from the baseline and hitting from 30 feet well beyond the arc.

Stephen Curry wasn’t the only one bruising ankles and egos on Monday.

The Golden State Warriors are chasing a lot of “Best Ever” designations this season.

Golden State’s 39th consecutive home victory – their 21st this season – gave it a three-game lead over San Antonio (38-7) in their duel for top seeding in the Western playoffs. Aldridge had the worst plus-minus (-20) of anyone in the game, and he did not ease the concerns about how he’d fare defensively when Golden State went small.

The Golden State Warriors might not statistically have the best defense in the National Basketball Association, but it showed the number one team on that rankings it’s more than capable on the defensive end which allowed Stephen Curry to have another one of those special nights.

“It was like men and boys out there tonight, I thought, as far as the toughness and the aggressiveness was concerned in every facet of the game”, he added.

The Warriors and their balanced attack lead by Steph Curry who poured in a game high 37pts hitting 6 3’s were able to jump on the spurs early turning them over 9 times in the first quarter leading to easy baskets in transition and of course open threes. Even the Defensive Player of the Year, Kawhi Leonard – perhaps the scariest individual force outside of the Bay Area this season – found himself at Curry’s mercy. “They’re 41-4 have a realistic shot at being the second team to win 70 games or possibly the first to win 73”. But they fell behind by as many as 19 in the second quarter.

March 19th is when Golden State travels to San Antonio and hopefully this time the match-up lives up expectations. While the Rockets have had their problems this season – they fired coach Kevin McHale in the third week of November – they have won their last three and are 9-3 since losing to the Spurs earlier this month. They won in a 120-90 thrashing Monday, treating the vaunted Spurs as if they were any other opposing team coming into Oracle Arena to face annihilation.

San Antonio learned without a doubt they can’t run with the Warriors.

While the two teams are the gold standard of the Western Conference, with each winning championships in the past two seasons, it’s clear the Warriors are the better team.

He also grabbed 12 rebounds and scored all nine of the Kings’ points in the first overtime before fouling out on a questionable call while putting back a rebound with 3:29 remaining in the second overtime.

Shaun Livingston and Brandon Rush scored 13 points apiece off the bench. They played without star forward Tim Duncan, who was resting an ailing right knee.

“Everything has to go right, so to me it’s not really worth discussing until there’s a few weeks left in the season and it’s actually a possibility”.

Four minutes into the game, he finished a fast break by whipping it around his back to lose Parker and scooping it in for the layup.
