Washington at Oregon State
“We started fast last week and we just didn’t have a great finish”, said UW senior receiver Jaydon Mickens. At 6-6, UW probably is searching for an at-large bowl berth, as the Pac-12 already has nine bowl-eligible teams with seven contracted bowl berths.

“I just thought we executed really well”, Browning said.
While it’s undoubtedly been an up and down year, Chris Petersen never lost faith.
“We’ve had a few tough Sundays coming in a few hard fought games”. And they’ve never backed down and they’ve never flinched.
“We just have gotta find a way to keep on fighting, and I take full responsibility for it. It’s my job to get it right”.
Jake Browning, in one of the most efficient passing performances ever by a Washington quarterback, completed 18 of 20 passes for 211 yards and four touchdowns before taking a seat with a 52-0 third-quarter lead.
Both players expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play at Oregon State after their last game at Reser Stadium. Browning completed 90 percent of his passes, the second-best single-game completion rate in UW history and the best of any Husky QB who attempted 20 passes or more.
Freshman tailback Myles Gaskin, who rushed for 127 yards on 23 carries, is just 17 yards shy of 1,000 yards rushing for the season. Washington’s defense had two takeaways. “You have to get them prepared for those scenarios and as you go through a long year you have to be able to get the backups prepared and you have to get the kids prepared to play in the moments”. “We were unable to stop them in any of those three phases”, Oregon State coach Gary Andersen said.
Redshirt freshman Nick Mitchell, the Mount Si High product, made his fifth start at quarterback for Oregon State, but he was benched in the second quarter after losing a fumble on a hit by UW’s Azeem Victor.
Browning threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Brayden Lenius on UW’s first possession. He is in the process of building something special, but it’s going to take time.
A Huskies offense that entered Saturday averaging 25.7 points per game surpassed that total before the first quarter concluded and racked up 45 points by halftime.
Washington scored two touchdowns during a two-minute span midway through the first quarter. McClatcher ran 2 yards for a score to make it 14-0. Dante Pettis returned an OSU punt 89 yards for a touchdown after the Beavers went three-and-out yet again, his third career punt-return touchdown.
Browning’s TD pass to Perkins in the final minute of the first quarter pushed the lead to 28-0, tying the UW record for most points in the opening quarter. The Huskies, who led 38-0 before their first punt, controlled the clock for 41:22. But the Huskies weren’t finished scoring in the first half.
In the first half, Washington outgained Oregon State 329-111, and had 18 first downs to the Beavers’ one, that coming on a 74-yard first-quarter run by Paul Lucas.
Trailing 52-0, Oregon State finally got on the board late in the third quarter when McMaryion threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Bolden. However, that will count for little on Friday, when the two teams meet for their annual Apple Cup clash. Heading into Friday’s Civil War against a surging OR squad in Eugene, OSU is in danger of going winless in conference play for the first time since Mike Riley’s first season in 1997.

Asked about Feeney’s status, Petersen said: “We’ll see”.
