Washington State QB Luke Falk carted off after head injury
Falk dropped back to pass when he was grabbed by Colorado’s Samson Kafovalu. Falk was whipped around & his head slammed against the turf on a chilly night with below freezing temperatures. Falk raised his thumbs to the crowd after he was placed on a stretcher and carted off the field at Martin Stadium. He was examined for a concussion in the second half of last week’s win against UCLA, but passed all concussion tests and returned to the game in the third quarter. While he’s not a senior, a few fine senior blocking by left guard Gunnar Eklund contributed to Gerard Wicks’ 123 rushing yards, the first 100-yard ground game by a WSU player since James Montgomery did it in 2010.

Quarterback Luke Falk has thrown for 4,067 yards and a team record 35 touchdowns, breaking by one the record shared by Ryan Leaf and Connor Halliday.
That chance to get to 10 wins will largely depend on Falk’s health. The sophomore entered the week leading the Pac-12 in passing and was second in the country.
Quarterback Peyton Bender again played well in relief.
Marks now has the school’s single-season receiving touchdown mark of 14. Keith Harrington added a 1-yard TD run for the Cougars. Washington State led 17-0 before Diego Gonzalez produced Colorado’s only points with a 31-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

Even though redshirt freshman Cade Apsay was making his first start at quarterback for Colorado, the Buffaloes came out throwing boldly and never backed down. Falk completed 21 of 23 passes in the first half, but averaged just 6.8 yards per attempt.
