Only one major industry had a substantial job loss, as transportation, warehousing and utilities cut 500 jobs. The rate was still slightly lower than the 6.3 percent jobless rate it had in December past year.

That means CT has recovered 83,800, or 70.4 percent, of the jobs lost in the 2008 recession, which Gioia noted dramatically lags behind MA, which has actually added 313 percent of the jobs it lost.
