Washington Wizards pay tribute to Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant has played awful this season.

“He had about five or six that were real good looks, a couple that were real wide open, where he pump-faked, got the guy open”, Scott said. However, they lost to the miserable Sixers team as well as giving them their first win this season.

Bryant was playing his first National Basketball Association game since announcing he would retire at the end of this season, and playing it in the town he grew up in.

Despite having wishes of a not so formal retirement, those plans were out of the circle when Bryant was brought to the centre court where he was presented a framed No. 24 Lower Merion jersey from Dr. J and his high school coach. Philadelphia C-F Nerlens Noel returned after missing the two previous games with a sore right knee….

His night had a great start… nine points on the Lakers’ first three possessions on 3-of-4 shooting from three-point land that had Sixers coach Brett Brown saying afterward that his young team was star struck.

A boyhood hero of Bryant, James seemed destined to face him in a mouthwatering match-up during the 2009 NBA Finals.

Before Kobe Bryant says goodbye to basketball, he still has a few more tricks up his purple shooting sleeve.

Kobe Bryant received tribute from his hometown at the start of the match.

Now on seven-game losing streak, the Lakers will continue a long eight-game road trip facing the Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons in their next three games. As a team they just have not been able to produce and reach the basket. Williams was fouled and made a pair of free throws to put the Wizards away.

They did outscore them in the first half of the game though.

The Magic pushed their lead to 17 points in the third quarter before Minnesota went on a 22-10 run to close out the third quarter and begin the fourth. D’Angelo Russell flashed his elite passing ability and even dunked in traffic, while Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson certainly had their moments, too. Jahlil Okafor and Canaan also scored 12 points.
