Durant appears to have finally returned to elite-level status after dealing with foot issues for much of last season. It will be the teams’ second meeting this season: Washington opened the campaign with an 88-87 win in Orlando.

Wizards vs Thunder Tuesday Night- I only bring this game up because everyone else will be talking about if Kevin Durant is “coming home” during and after the game. I can’t tell you if it is good because I cannot watch this guy talk about himself. Nothing goes right for the ‘Skins, as my friend pointed out in a series of drunken texts to me in October, shortly after Kirk Cousins threw a walk-off pick six.
In short, look at it this way: If Westbrook played in, say, Milwaukee, and was going to be a free agent next summer along with Durant, can you imagine the hysteria if Reporter A, B or C reported that Durant and Westbrook were thinking about teaming up with Team X, Y or Z next summer? There is no doubt that if the 6’11 forward moves back to play for his home team that they could have a good enough team to take rival the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East and challenge any team that comes out of the West.
“I’ll just get treatment and see how it goes”, he added. They don’t have to pin their hopes on luring another All-Star to come play with him; they already have Westbrook. And that line of thinking is very defensible.
Brandon Knight has struggled with his decision making as he settles into the backcourt with Eric Bledsoe, but even with him averaging 3.4 turnovers per game, Knight has made positive strides with the team.
But Durant clarifies that he is speaking via a player’s standpoint. The Wizards/Randy Wittman/the fans were not just bad, they were woefully unappealing-hardly of the caliber to seduce a top-flight star in or around his prime. The Thunder’s starting lineup on the other hand grabbed 27 defensive rebounds, 19 by Durant and Westbrook. Otto Porter was the team’s leading scorer with 23 points. And I wouldn’t like that if I was on that team. They don’t have the big names of the old Wizards, but they do have a great supporting cast surrounding John Wall. “If it is five guys, we will play five guys”. “It’s just a little sore”.

On a night marred by an injury to (one of) OKC’s prized superstars, the Thunder were able to eke out a big victory in D.C. behind the insane Westbrook and the even more maniacal Waiters. Unless you have been living under a rock in the DMV for the past year or so, you have heard the rumors. This team doesn’t deserve to hear its fans cheering for a player on the opposing team. After all, you know as well as any fan base how bad things could be.
